Champion of the nineCreated with Unity3D.
Development time: ~5 months. Development team: Asher Tuggle (Engineer), Logan Brown (Art), Ryan Darras (Design/Producer) Genre: Platformer/Action RPG Features:
After having Champion of the Nine (COTN) be selected by the class to be a project that we would develop over the course of the semester, I teamed up with Asher and Logan to develop what you see here. The team utilized Agile development practices to manage the project. Being the producer/designer on this project was a ton of fun because I had an awesome team to work with.
Although simple, COTN was a pretty fun game to play. I learned how to more effectively work as a team so that we could use our combined effort to produce something worth presenting, and it was really interesting to watch a development cycle that took a game from a prototype stage (see below) to where it was in the end. |
Champion of the nine prototype"It's your time to become a champion. Choose your class and prepare to become the strongest sell-sword in the land. It's your choice! Do you want to fight for the wealthiest kingdom in hopes of high rewards? Or do you want to attack them to take all that they have! Become a bloodthirsty berserker who has every reason in the world to fight entire kingdoms; thats right, GOLD! Conquer kingdoms to collect gold and experience for new abilities and gear, as it will take more than your current puny state to become Champion of the Nine!"
This was the pitch to my CS 3350 class in Fall 2015. The first few weeks of 3350 were to develop an idea, prototype, and pitch for a game that you wanted to take a team and fully develop. My pitch won the hearts of many, so I gathered up a team to develop the game throughout the semester. |
